On January 19, 2024, Bromwich+Smith is giving employees a collective day off to prioritize and re-charge their health and well-being, called “A Day for Me”. “Employee well-being comes first.”, CEO Shelley Vandenberg, “which is why we continue to focus on our people. This is not just another day off, but a clear message that it’s okay to relax. Healthier employees mean happier clients. Now is the time for us to try new things in support of employee’s wellbeing – like taking a collective break.” Employees at Bromwich+Smith support Canadians that need immediate debt relief, which is very rewarding, but for many the confrontation with highly complex discussion that often accompany those customers experiencing financial distress (i.e. suicide, abuse, desperation) may lead to emotional and physical distress. Having every employee take the same day off makes it easier to collectively “switch off”. This offers all employees an ideal opportunity to recharge, reflect, and take time to look after themselves.
